Pregnancy is a transformative journey, and each trimester brings its own unique challenges and needs. From soothing discomfort to supporting your changing body, the right products can truly make a difference. As a mom myself, I know how overwhelming it can be to sift through endless recommendations—so I’ve put together a carefully curated list of pregnancy must-haves that actually help. Whether you're managing morning sickness, staying comfortable as your bump grows, or preparing for labor, these are the things that helped me most and I hope they bring you the same comfort and confidence.
Let’s dive in!
Side Note: To conceive and support pregnancy, it’s now recommended to take 1,000 mg of folate in a prenatal. If you're taking additional folate, be sure to stop after 12 weeks.
I'm going to split this guide into First Trimester, Second Trimester, and Third Trimester, as each stage comes with very different needs. I’ll also include a cost breakdown of what I spent and how often I purchased each item. Lastly, I’ll share some tips and insights I’ve picked up along the way.
Please keep in mind that your needs may vary depending on your unique situation—but I hope this gives you easy access to helpful, real-life recommendations.

To start, I spent $200 to get all of these items.
Always Monthly:
Prenatals – $30
Additional Folate – $14
Morning Sickness Treats (2) – $30
Most of these items were used on a daily basis. Be sure to sleep as much as you can, and try to get ahead of potential headaches by taking magnesium glycinate. It needs time to build up in your system to be effective—but sometimes, you simply need the extra rest.

In the Second Trimester, I spent $193.45 on all of these items:
Mam's Glow Face and Body Wash – $14
Lactic Acid Serum – $15
Maternity Panties – $20
Honest Gentle Lotion – $10
Flare Pants – $8
Maternity Leggings – $17
Maternity Pants (2-Pack) – $37
Yoga Ball – $24
Pregnancy Pillow – $35
The Honest Face Wash, Face Serum, and Honest Lotion were used daily—except for the face wash, which I used every three days. In between, I used a cream-based cleanser along with the other products.
I recommend using cotton bump-friendly panties, as your stomach may start to feel itchy, and these can help soothe the skin. The yoga ball is a must-have—it relieves back pain, and later in the third trimester, bouncing on it helped me go into labor and get baby into the right position for birth.
Most importantly, the pregnancy pillow is essential. From this point on, you'll need to sleep on your left side, and the pillow makes it much more comfortable and supportive.

In the Third Trimester, I spent $170.36 on the following items:
Raspberry Tea – $6
Maternity Shapewear – $10
Armpit Mud – $12
Collagen Peptides – $35
Maternity PJ Set – $40
Sleeveless Maternity PJs – $28
Maternity Camis – $31
Optional (for breastfeeding prep):
Medela Manual Breast Pump – $29
Colostrum Collectors – $21
These optional items are helpful if you plan to breastfeed. You can’t express milk until after 39 weeks, so you can always order them later if needed. Some moms try hand expressing or using a manual pump to collect colostrum before birth, but I don’t recommend using an electric pump, as it can stimulate labor quickly (too quickly if you're not right next to a hospital).
I might be in the minority here, but Armpit Mud was the only thing that helped with the mysterious pregnancy smell that no one talks about! Just know you’ll likely need to reapply it at least once throughout the day.
Collagen peptides were super helpful in supporting my energy and overall wellness during the third trimester, just be sure to check with your doctor before starting. Pregnancy tea helps tone the uterus; I didn’t drink much until I was closer to labor.
Both sets of PJs served different purposes: the sleeveless set was perfect for pregnancy and postpartum night sweats, while the long-sleeve set was incredibly cozy, especially if you’re expecting a winter baby and plan to breastfeed.
And lastly… you can never have too many camis!
These recommendations were carefully selected to help you feel more comfortable, supported, and empowered every step of the way. Remember, every pregnancy is different—so listen to your body, trust your instincts, and lean into what feels right for you.
You've got this, mama. 💛
